Next Steps on our Wholesale Transformation Journey

Hear from our Chief Operations and Technology Officer, Phil Haslam as we make way for some key developments in our journey to the full-fibre future.

From the inception of PXC, our strategy has been focused on becoming a standalone wholesale platform that is ‘easy to do business with’. Two years on we have made strong progress towards that goal – simplifying how we work, aligning our systems to our core products and services, and building upon feedback to create a simpler, more consistent experience for our partners.

As we enter the next phase of our strategy, there are further important changes we’re making to ensure we continue to live up to our partners’ expectations and stay innovative as we enter the full-fibre future.

Network Evolution

The industry is undergoing substantial transformation, including the consolidation of exchanges by Openreach and the withdrawal of legacy copper services. To stay ahead, we’re optimising our own network footprint, shaping industry processes and ensuring a smooth transition to next generation connectivity.

System Simplification

We are evolving our IT platforms over the coming months. Firstly, all we’re consolidating our Ethernet provisioning and complex services to one place: our award winning 1Portal. This replaces MyNet and gives partners a single destination with better functionality, visibility and support.

We’re also bringing our backend billing systems together, so partners receive one unified, PXC branded statement covering all services across our combined wholesale businesses. This will reduce complexity, improve accuracy and make financial interactions simpler and more efficient.

Seamless Access

Importantly, all the new products and services that we have launched in the last 12 months will be made available through 1Portal and our suite of APIs – with full interoperability – giving partners integrated access to the latest capabilities, while building a strong, futureproof foundation.

As we progress further along our transformational journey, we will continue to take our partners with us – providing clear updates, guidance and support. We’re building a future that is simpler, faster and more seamless, so our partners can grow without limits.
